For decades, Thailand has gained support, success and accolades from the global business events community. The Thai are renowned for an authentic sense of hospitality, diverse creativity, and inclusive and collaborative spirit. The strengths of the Thai  people underpin the new campaign, and they celebrate their contributions through the letter ‘INE’, which means ‘Thai’ in our language, in the word REDEFINE.

TCEB follows the pace of global transformation and see that the best solution is one where they use their business capabilities to foster synergy with the global business community – a sustainable win-win for our industry.

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau is the conduit to a network of strong relationships.

Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) after holding country – and region-specific Thailand Incentives & Meetings Exchange (TIME) programme, an annual educational and networking event to promote Incentives and Meetings travel into Thailand, will be holding its first global edition of TIME in 2020.

TCEB has held annual TIME programmes for India in 2017, Australia and Oceania in 2018 and ASEAN + 6 markets in 2018, The venture started in 2016 with Chinese market. Nooch Homossukhon, Director, Meetings and Incentives Department, TCEB, in an exclusive to Travel Span informed that TCEB will be inviting double the number of corporate buyers and intermediaries for the event next year.

Homossukhon who is on a thanks giving networking venture to the MICE partners in Delhi and Mumbai further said that forging result-oriented partnerships is vital in the corporate MICE business and the objective is to create win-win partnerships.

Thailand had witnessed 20% growth in overall MICE visitor arrivals last year and the India growth has been 18%, she said.  India, she said, is second top source market for MICE for Thailand and contributes 12% to the overall MICE business. Out of the total Indian MICE to Thailand, 70% is corporate meetings and incentives, she said.

Talking about the new TCEB brand campaign, Thailand Redefine, Homossukhon said that the spirit of the campaign is to co-create, collaborate, partner and work closely with thought leaders. She said that TCEB had co-created collaborative campaigns with Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways. She further added that that they have tried to redefine even the internal systems and processes in line with the spirit of the branding ever since the campaign was launched.

TIME, she said, is a successful model of a government agency designing a programme and the private sector owning up it and taking it up forward. Trade associations like Thailand Incentive & Convention Association (TICA) and SITE are key partners of TCEB.  Similarly, luxury brands like Conrad, BMW have joined hands in recent TIME events.

Nitin Sachdeva, Director – India Representative Office, TCEB, said that corporate clients are for unique experience, ideas and plans to make their travel programmes experiential and memorable rather than any  subsidies, incentives or monetary gains.
