Packaged-departure product crosses 2,000 seats as company widens destination and source-city network
B2B travel technology company TravClan is targeting 20,000 seats over the next six months for its Trusted Gateways packaged-departure product, following sales of more than 2,000 seats since its launch.
The company outlined the expansion plans at a travel trade event in New Delhi, where its leadership met travel and airline partners to review the performance of Trusted Gateways and discuss the next phase of the product.
TravClan, which operates a B2B platform serving travel agents across flights, hotels and holiday packages, launched Trusted Gateways earlier this year to offer ready-to-sell international holiday packages. The product combines flights, accommodation, sightseeing and other travel components into pre-designed departures, reducing the requirement for extensive quotation and customisation by agents.
Product crosses 2,000 seats
Chirag Agrawal, Co-founder and COO, TravClan, said simplicity has been a key factor behind the product’s adoption among travel agents.
“Trusted Gateways has been a hit product,” Agrawal said, adding that agents value a format that reduces the time required for quotation, customisation and operational coordination.
The product is positioned around smaller group departures, generally comprising around 10–12 travellers. According to Agrawal, the smaller format is intended to provide greater flexibility than larger group tours, with couples and families able to travel together without coordinating a large number of participants.
Arun Bagaria, Co-founder and CEO, TravClan, said the product had crossed 2,000 seats in approximately three-and-a-half months.
TravClan’s current public company update also confirms that Trusted Gateways has crossed the 2,000-seat milestone, highlighting the product’s use by travel agents to sell packaged holidays combining flights, hotels and activities.
The company said Trusted Gateways has so far generated bookings across destinations including Thailand, Bali, Singapore and Vietnam, with almost 2,000 travellers having travelled on the departures, according to its internal figures.
TravClan said the product has recorded a customer rating of 4.8 out of 5, although the rating is based on the company’s own customer measurement.
Focus on younger leisure travellers
According to Bagaria, the strongest customer concentration has been among travellers aged 25 to 40, with couples and families accounting for a larger share of current demand.
Solo travel has so far represented a smaller segment, although some travel partners are using the packaged departures as a foundation for their own solo-travel offerings.
TravClan is also exploring MICE and ad-hoc group business through its travel-agent network as it broadens the application of the product.
The company said the ready-made format enables agents to position the packages as value-oriented deals, while reducing the operational workload associated with creating individual itineraries.
Expansion across cities and feeder markets
The next phase of Trusted Gateways will involve expanding both its destination portfolio and source-market network.
TravClan plans to add Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai as source cities, with Bengaluru also included in its expansion plans. The company is simultaneously looking at ways to connect travellers from Tier II and Tier III cities with major departure points.
Agrawal said feeder connectivity could involve arranging domestic flights or road transfers from smaller cities before travellers join the main international departure.
The strategy reflects TravClan’s broader focus on supporting travel agents beyond India’s major metropolitan markets. The company says it currently works with more than 20,000 travel agents across India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
New destinations in the pipeline
On the destination side, the company plans to introduce Vietnam, Kerala, Sri Lanka, Himachal Pradesh and Dubaiin the upcoming season. Andaman is also being evaluated for a future launch.
TravClan has already conducted a pilot for Vietnam and said the initial response was positive.
Existing destinations will also receive additional capacity. The company plans to increase inventory for Singapore, including the introduction of Mumbai-Singapore departures, while adding capacity across other source markets.
20,000-seat target
The expansion is anchored by TravClan’s target of growing Trusted Gateways from more than 2,000 seats to 20,000 seats over the next six months.
Bagaria said the company is planning its inventory and capacity ahead of the season, with the target requiring greater coordination with airlines, hotels and other suppliers.
Inventory management will be a significant consideration as the model involves advance procurement of seats and other travel components. The company also identified capital requirements and cancellation exposure as factors that need to be managed as the product scales.
Building a larger leisure footprint
TravClan’s longer-term ambition is to establish a significant position in the leisure destinations where it operates.
Agrawal said the company’s objective is to achieve a meaningful share of the market across the leisure destinations in which it has a presence.
The company’s wider B2B platform currently combines travel supply, technology and support for agents, covering flights, hotels, visas and holiday packages. TravClan says it has partnerships with more than 25 tourism boards and operates across India, the UAE and Southeast Asia.
With Trusted Gateways having crossed the 2,000-seat mark, the company is now looking to use a broader destination portfolio, additional departure cities and feeder-market connectivity to scale the packaged-departure model to its 20,000-seat target.
