Air Canada is expanding its winter 2026–27 network across Latin America and the Caribbean, adding destinations and increasing capacity as the airline targets continued demand for leisure travel to warmer markets.

The Canadian carrier is strengthening connections through its Toronto and Montreal hubs, giving travellers from Europe and other international markets additional options for reaching destinations across Latin America.

The expansion includes services to Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City and Guadalajara, alongside increased capacity on selected routes. Air Canada has described the programme as part of its broader strategy to expand its presence in Latin America and serve both Canadian travellers and international passengers connecting through its Canadian hubs.

Current Air Canada booking data confirms that services to destinations including Rio de Janeiro and Cartagena are available for the 2026–27 winter period.

More connections to Latin America

The winter schedule is designed to strengthen Air Canada’s links between Canada and Latin America while also supporting international connecting traffic.

Among the destinations highlighted by the airline is Rio de Janeiro, with Toronto–Rio de Janeiro service available throughout the winter period. Air Canada’s current schedule and booking platform show flights between Toronto and Rio for November 2026 through March 2027.

Cartagena, Colombia, is another key addition to the network. Toronto–Cartagena services are available for the winter months, while the airline’s schedule also provides connections between Montreal and Cartagena during parts of the season.

The expanded network also includes Guatemala City and Guadalajara, destinations that Air Canada has identified as part of its Latin American growth strategy.

Air Canada has said the network is intended to serve Canadian travellers heading south as well as international passengers using Canada as a connecting point between Europe and Latin America.

Winter sun beyond Latin America

The expansion extends beyond South and Central America.

Air Canada is also increasing its winter offering to Caribbean and Mexican destinations, providing additional options for travellers seeking warm-weather holidays during the northern winter.

The airline’s wider winter programme includes services to destinations such as Punta Cana, Cancún and Nassau, alongside additional routes from Canadian cities to destinations across the Caribbean and Mexico.

The carrier has also announced additional Calgary winter services to Cancún and Puerto Vallarta, scheduled to operate during the 2026–27 winter season. The Calgary–Cancún service is scheduled to operate from December 11, 2026, through April 11, 2027, while Calgary–Puerto Vallarta flights are scheduled from December 10, 2026, through April 10, 2027.

These services add capacity from Western Canada as Air Canada broadens its winter leisure network.

Toronto and Montreal remain key gateways

For European travellers, Toronto and Montreal provide important connecting points into Air Canada’s Americas network.

The airline has specifically positioned its Latin America schedule to accommodate international connecting traffic, including passengers travelling between Europe and destinations in Central and South America.

The strategy comes alongside a broader expansion of Air Canada’s international network for winter 2026–27. The airline has also announced additional year-round European services, including Toronto–Manchester and Toronto–Copenhagen flights.

For travellers originating in Europe, these expanded Canadian connections create additional routing options to destinations that may otherwise require connections through major European or US gateways.

More choice for winter travellers

Air Canada’s winter schedule reflects the continuing importance of Latin America and the Caribbean to the airline’s international network.

The carrier says its Latin America programme will offer more than 55 daily flights and over 80,000 seats per week, making it the largest Latin America offering among Canadian airlines.

The network encompasses destinations across Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America, with services designed to accommodate both leisure and connecting passengers.

For travellers, the expansion means greater choice of departure points, connecting cities and destinations during the 2026–27 winter season.

The airline’s current booking platform confirms that several of the highlighted routes are already available for travel through the winter and into early 2027, although schedules and fares remain subject to change.

As Air Canada continues to build its international network, the latest winter schedule positions Canada as an increasingly important connecting point between Europe and the Americas, while adding more direct options for Canadian travellers seeking winter sun.
