AMAALA Yacht Club opens as Saudi Red Sea expands global yachting offering

Red Sea Global (RSG) has officially opened the AMAALA Yacht Club, marking a new phase in the development of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast as a destination for luxury yachting, sailing and marine tourism.
Located within AMAALA Marina Village, the yacht club is now welcoming founding members and visiting yachts. RSG is positioning the facility as a new winter cruising base for international yacht owners and a gateway between Mediterranean sailing routes and the Indian Ocean.
Located about 2,000 nautical miles from Monaco, AMAALA is designed to offer an alternative winter destination for yachts that traditionally move from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean or Indian Ocean during the colder months.

Marina designed for superyachts
AMAALA Marina features 119 berths and can accommodate superyachts exceeding 100 metres. The marina provides marine services including bunkering, power and water supply, while additional maintenance and repair facilities are planned for the coming years.
The 7,900-square-metre yacht club serves as the centrepiece of the marina and provides facilities for yacht owners, members and visiting guests.
The clubhouse includes dining and social spaces such as AMAALA Lounge, ANQA, 27°C and The Deck, as well as a rooftop pool, private meeting suites and areas for social gatherings and events.
AMAALA’s official yacht club information says the marina can accommodate motor and sailing yachts of up to 130 metres, with dock management services, fast-fibre internet available on request and support for international entry and exit procedures.
A new platform for international sailing
The AMAALA Yacht Club is also expected to play a role in Saudi Arabia’s growing international sailing programme.
The facility will be a centrepiece of the Grand Finale of The Ocean Race 2027 and is scheduled to host other international yachting events during the year. The yacht club’s role in the 2027 event was also identified in AMAALA’s earlier development materials.
Members and visitors will have access to AMAALA’s growing collection of luxury resorts and experiences, including properties operated by Four Seasons, Six Senses, Rosewood, Equinox and Nammos.
The wider destination combines wellness, water sports, cultural programming, art and hospitality, adding land-based experiences to the yacht club’s marine offering.
Year-round cruising destination
RSG said AMAALA benefits from average seasonal temperatures of around 26°C, with average lows of approximately 23°C, supporting year-round sailing and cruising.
The destination is around 45 minutes from Al Wajh International Airport, providing air access for international yacht owners, guests and crew.
AMAALA’s official website describes the yacht club as a year-round sailing destination on the northern Red Sea, with access to sailing, water sports, diving and other outdoor activities.
Design reflects the Red Sea coastline
Designed by HKS Architects, the yacht club takes architectural cues from the sculpted rock formations of the Red Sea and incorporates cantilevered terraces, maritime references and elements inspired by traditional Arabian architecture.
The facility is intended to provide a long-term gathering place for the international sailing and yachting community, combining hospitality, leisure and marine services.
Sustainability is also central to the development. Like the wider AMAALA destination, the yacht club is powered entirely by renewable energy, according to RSG.
The opening adds a new component to AMAALA’s tourism infrastructure as the destination continues to expand its hospitality, wellness, leisure and marine offering.
