The DC Restaurant Group known for its Award-Winning Cuisine extends its reach to Richmond
Kismet Modern Indian opened dinner service at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7 at 2918 W. Broad Street in Richmond’s Scott’s Addition neighbourhood. Kismet Modern Indian Richmond (Kismet RVA) is the second location for the casual Indian concept out of Northern Virginia and the third from the restaurant group behind Washington D.C.’s award-winning Karma Modern Indian.
Chef Ajay Kumar will lead the culinary team at Kismet Modern Indian and brings with him the recognition of a Michelin Bib Gourmand award from sister restaurant, Karma Modern Indian in downtown Washington, D.C. Diners to Kismet RVA will discover food that is unforgettably delicious dishes made with fresh and high-quality ingredient me-honoured time-honoured cooking techniques.
The menu at Kismet Modern Indian will cover both traditional and modern options like the popular Tangy Sweet Potato and Tandoori Shrimp appetizers. Tandoori Grilled Lamb Chops and Branzino Peri-Peri follow under the entrée section on the menu that also includes a “Companions” section with delicious side items like Dal Makhani, Fried Okra and Lemon Rice along with an offering of fresh baked naan, roti, and laccha parantha – made to order.
Kismet Modern Indian’s interior design is chic and comfortable. The restaurant boasts a courtyard patio for outdoor seating. Total seating 132 diners with space indoors for 120 guests and another 12 on the patio.
The restaurant features a full bar and robust wine program with varieties carefully selected to compliment the cuisine. Curated cocktails and a selection of both imported and domestic beers will be offered.
The restaurant will be open five days a week, Wednesday through Sunday and offers one menu for both lunch and dinner. Dining room hours are Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm and from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm. On Sunday the restaurant will be open from 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm for lunch with dinner service from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Kismet Modern Indian will be closed on Monday and Tuesday each week. To-go and delivery orders can be placed Wednesday through Sunday from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm and again from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
