The Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) proudly represented India at the second edition of the Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC), held in Moscow. This prestigious event, themed “Global Challenges and Trends of the MICE Industry: Towards Sustainable Development through the Prism of Experience and Knowledge of BRICS Countries and the Global South,” brought together over 1,300 participants from the global business tourism sector.
Leading the OTOAI delegation was President Himanshu Kesari Patil, accompanied by Vice President Shravan Bhalla, General Secretary Siddhartha Khanna, Past President Riaz Munshi, and EC Member ADL Abdul Karim. Their participation highlighted India’s significant role in the MICE sector and reinforced the association’s dedication to fostering international partnerships.
The MGMC 2024 featured 13 dynamic business sessions, led by more than 50 global experts, addressing critical topics such as advancements in congress and exhibition infrastructure and the transformative impact of technologies like big data and artificial intelligence. With over 2,000 B2B meetings, the OTOAI delegation engaged with industry peers, explored emerging markets, and strengthened connections within the BRICS and global MICE communities.
Cultural and business synergies were emphasized through initiatives like Made in Moscow and Moscow Tea Time, which facilitated cross-cultural exchange and highlighted key trends shaping the MICE industry.
As Moscow continues to solidify its status as a global hub for business tourism, the MGMC 2024 served as a vital platform for addressing industry challenges and exploring sustainable growth opportunities, further cementing its importance among global MICE leaders.
Under strong leadership, OTOAI is carving a niche for itself by actively promoting unexplored and tourism-friendly destinations.
