New addition strengthens seamless rail connectivity between Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento and the scenic Campania region for international travellers.
Rail Europe has further expanded its extensive Italian rail portfolio with the addition of Campania Express to its booking platform and API, offering travel professionals and distribution partners easier access to one of Southern Italy’s most popular regional rail services.
The integration enables agents and travel partners worldwide to book journeys on the renowned Circumvesuviana railway network, which connects Naples with some of the Campania region’s most celebrated destinations, including the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the coastal town of Vico Equense, and the picturesque resort destination of Sorrento.
The latest expansion comes at a time when Italy continues to rank among the most sought-after destinations for international travellers booking through Rail Europe. By incorporating Campania Express into its distribution ecosystem, the company aims to provide greater flexibility and more convenient rail options for visitors exploring Southern Italy’s rich cultural heritage, historic landmarks, culinary traditions, and Mediterranean landscapes.
Available as a standalone regional rail product, Campania Express complements Rail Europe’s existing portfolio of domestic and international train services, as well as its range of rail passes, further strengthening the platform’s position as a comprehensive gateway to European rail travel.
Designed primarily for leisure travellers, Campania Express offers an enhanced travel experience compared with regular local train services operating on the same route. The service features guaranteed reserved seating, dedicated luggage space, air-conditioned coaches, and fewer intermediate stops, enabling passengers to travel more comfortably and efficiently between key tourist attractions.
Robert From, Chief Growth Officer of Rail Europe, highlighted the growing global appeal of Southern Italy and the importance of improving access to its diverse tourism experiences.
“Southern Italy continues to attract travellers from around the world thanks to its exceptional blend of history, culture, gastronomy, and breathtaking coastal scenery. By adding Campania Express to our portfolio and making it available through both our agent platform and API, we are providing our partners worldwide with another valuable option to connect travellers with some of Campania’s most iconic destinations,” he said.
The addition of Campania Express reflects Rail Europe’s continued commitment to expanding its rail offerings and supporting travel professionals with a wider range of seamless, technology-driven booking solutions. As demand for sustainable and immersive travel experiences continues to rise, improved rail accessibility across regions such as Campania is expected to play a vital role in encouraging slower, more meaningful exploration of Europe’s cultural and natural treasures.
With enhanced connectivity between Naples and some of Italy’s most treasured UNESCO heritage sites and coastal destinations, the partnership is set to offer international visitors a more convenient and comfortable way to discover the charm, history, and lifestyle of Southern Italy.
