Sun Siyam Vilu Reef has entered a new chapter of elevated island hospitality with the unveiling of its new Ocean Signature Villas with Pool and Slide, marking the most significant transformation in the resort’s history. Officially launched during an exclusive event, A New Rhythm of the Reef, the new collection reflects a refined approach to luxury, blending contemporary design, immersive experiences, and the authentic warmth of Maldivian hospitality.
The unveiling was led by Hon. Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Sun Siyam, alongside local media, industry partners, and distinguished guests. The new development further strengthens Sun Siyam Vilu Reef’s position within the brand’s prestigious Privé Collection and reinforces its commitment to delivering exceptional luxury experiences in the Maldives.
The resort has introduced 50 newly designed overwater villas, comprising 48 one-bedroom Ocean Signature Villas and two expansive two-bedroom retreats. Created for couples, families, and discerning travellers seeking both privacy and connection, the villas offer spectacular lagoon views with uninterrupted panoramas stretching from sunrise to sunset.
A New Design Language Inspired by the Maldives
The Ocean Signature Villas showcase a sophisticated design philosophy where contemporary aesthetics merge seamlessly with the natural beauty of the Indian Ocean. The interiors have been carefully crafted to create a sense of openness, tranquillity, and understated elegance.
Each villa features a spacious lounge with a 65-inch entertainment display, an integrated pantry designed for effortless in-villa dining, and a discreet privacy divider that enhances flexibility and comfort. Flowing architectural lines and dramatic arch details guide guests from the bedroom through a dedicated dressing area into an open-plan bathroom featuring a freestanding bathtub, dual vanity spaces, and premium amenities.
The two-bedroom configurations offer additional privacy and convenience, with each bedroom equipped with a private en-suite bathroom and individual 50-inch entertainment screens, making the villas ideal for families and groups seeking an exclusive overwater sanctuary.
Beyond the interiors, the expansive outdoor deck becomes an experience in itself. To realise the transformation, Sun Siyam collaborated with London-based interior design studio Studio Sixty7, led by founders and creative directors Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero. Their design concept embraces calm minimalism while introducing bold artistic elements inspired by the colours, textures, and movement of the Maldivian seascape.
The villas feature white timber-panelled walls that create a bright and serene atmosphere, contrasted by deep blue ceiling accents reflecting the surrounding ocean. Soft architectural curves, bespoke timber craftsmanship, carefully integrated lighting, and locally created artworks combine to deliver an environment that feels both contemporary and deeply connected to its island setting.
Hon. Ahmed Siyam Mohamed described the launch as a particularly meaningful milestone, highlighting that Sun Siyam Vilu Reef is where the Sun Siyam journey first began.
