Swosti Group’s ambitious luxury hotel project – Swosti Chilika Resort is all set to be operational by early November next year. Strategically located on the east coast of India, in the Ganjam district of Odisha state near the banks of the famous Chilika Lake, India’s largest coastal lagoon, the soon-to-be-launched property awaits the 5-star Resort Category certification (for the project level approval) from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The brand is soon to finalise a hotel management company and a spa operator for the resort. For water sports and related activities, Swosti Group aims to join hands with a Germany based company, which is currently operating a water sports park in Goa, informed J K Mohanty, MHCIMA, Managing Director, Swosti Group (Hotels-Resorts-Travels).

The Swosti Group plans to build more hotels in Puri, near Satpada Lake and Bhitarkanika Mangroves in Odisha. Mohanty revealed, “We are in the process of getting the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) approvals for our resorts in Puri and Satpada Lake, which is the home to India’s largest collection of Irrawaddy Dolphins. Moreover, Swosti Group also intends to establish a luxurious Eco-Forest Lodge at Bhitarkanika, the largest mangrove forest in Eastern India. We will commence the projects post receiving the necessary clearances from the government departments.”

The Swosti Chilika Resort will feature 70 finely crafted cottages including Presidential Suite, Pool Villas, Quad Villas and Hotel Block with all modern amenities. The mega project will comprise houseboats with spa facility, an in-house spa, yoga centre, herbal gardens and an amphitheater. Guests can also choose from a number of engagement options from boats for water sports, water scooters, facilities for water surfing, boating facilities to 26 islands, badminton and tennis court, mini golf course, bird watching tower, bicycle tours and village tours. Along with 9 acres of international lush green landscaping, guests can look forward to boat restaurants, conferencing facilities and spacious lawns for Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) facilities, stressed Mohanty.

Chilika Lake in Odisha is the largest brackish water lake in Asia and the first Ramsar site of India, admired for its irresistible beauty and tranquility. Beautiful islands, varied flora and fauna, exquisite migratory birds, picturesque villages all around make it one of the most exciting places to be in. “We are very optimistic that the upcoming luxury resort will attract both high-end domestic as well as foreign tourists to the region. A renowned international architecture firm from Thailand has been designing the resort. All the norms of the Forest and Environment Department of Odisha are being complied to keep up the eco-friendly quotient of the Chilika project,” added Mohanty.
