Tourism Malaysia appoints Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali as Director for New Delhi

Tourism Malaysia has announced the appointment of Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali as the new Director of its office in New Delhi.

With an impressive career spanning over 34 years in tourism promotion and international relations, Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. His long standing service with Tourism Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture, has been distinguished by significant accomplishments in showcasing Malaysia’s unique attractions and cultural richness.

Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali’s exemplary service has earned him numerous accolades, including the Silver Medal Award from the Governor of Sarawak in September 2012, the Long Service Award from Tourism Malaysia in April 2011, and the Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (BKT) Award from the Governor of Melaka in October 2007.

Throughout his career, Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali has held several senior positions within Tourism Malaysia. Most recently, he served as the Senior Deputy Director of the Package Development Division since January 2021, overseeing the Niche Tourism Product Team and leading the Intelligent Unit. Between January 2019 and January 2021, he was the Senior Deputy Director of the Human Resources Division, where he focused on human capital planning and leadership development. From July 2017 to January 2019, he led the International Promotion Division, driving Malaysia’s tourism initiatives in global markets.

His skills in public speaking, event management, marketing, and sales have significantly contributed to his success in various leadership roles.

Academically, Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali holds a Master of Business Administration in Tourism Management from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), graduating with a perfect CGPA of 4.0, and an Associate’s Degree in Tourism Administration from UiTM.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali stated, “I am honoured to have the opportunity to strengthen the ties between Malaysia and India and to promote Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and vibrant tourism offerings to Indian travellers.”
