TravClan has been appointed as the Preferred Sales Agent (PSA) for StarDream Cruises in India, marking a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening cruise distribution and expanding the accessibility of cruise holidays across the Indian travel trade ecosystem.

The collaboration is expected to modernise how cruise products are distributed and sold in India by leveraging technology-driven solutions to simplify cruise discovery, booking processes, and operational support for travel agents nationwide. Industry experts view the move as part of the broader transformation taking place within India’s rapidly evolving experiential travel market.

Expanding Cruise Accessibility Across India

Cruise tourism in India continues to remain a relatively underpenetrated segment despite increasing interest among Indian travellers seeking immersive, curated, and experience-led holidays. Traditionally, cruise sales and distribution have largely remained concentrated within a limited network of specialised travel sellers, primarily based in metropolitan markets.

For many small and mid-sized travel agencies, cruise bookings have historically been associated with operational complexity, fragmented inventory access, limited visibility, and higher dependency on relationship-based distribution systems compared to mainstream travel products such as air tickets, hotels, and packaged holidays.

Through the new partnership, TravClan plans to utilise its technology-led B2B travel distribution network to make cruise products more scalable and accessible for travel agents across India, including emerging travel entrepreneurs and agencies located in Tier II and Tier III cities.

The company stated that the collaboration is designed to help democratise cruise selling opportunities by enabling a broader network of travel advisors to confidently market and sell cruise vacations to Indian travellers.

Technology-Driven Distribution Strategy

Chirag Agrawal, Co-founder of TravClan, highlighted the longstanding distribution challenges within the cruise sector and the opportunity technology presents in improving accessibility for the wider travel trade.

“One of the biggest gaps in the cruise industry today is distribution accessibility. Cruise inventory and selling expertise have traditionally remained concentrated within a relatively small ecosystem, which limits wider adoption across the travel trade,” Agrawal said.

“At TravClan, we believe technology can play a meaningful role in simplifying cruise discovery, booking, and support for travel agents across the country, not just in metros, but also for emerging travel businesses in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.”

He added that the partnership represents an important step towards building a more scalable and inclusive cruise distribution ecosystem in India as traveller preferences continue shifting towards experience-led and convenience-driven holidays.

“Our partnership with StarDream Cruises is an important step towards making cruise selling more scalable and accessible for the broader travel agent community. We believe the category holds strong long-term potential as Indian travellers increasingly explore experience-led and convenience-driven holiday formats,” he stated.

Cruise Sector Sees Long-Term Growth Potential

Naresh Rawal, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing at StarDream Cruises, said India represents a strategically important growth market for the cruise sector, particularly as awareness and interest in cruise holidays continue to rise among Indian consumers.

“At StarDream Cruises, we see significant long-term potential for cruise holidays in India, and strengthening our distribution network is critical to unlocking that opportunity,” Rawal said.

He noted that TravClan’s scale, technology capabilities, and strong engagement with the travel trade make the company an important partner in expanding the cruise line’s reach across the Indian market.

“This partnership is about making cruise holidays more accessible for travel agents beyond the traditional cruise-selling ecosystem and creating new opportunities for business growth together. We look forward to working closely with the TravClan team and the wider travel trade fraternity to further build the StarDream Cruises market in India,” he added.

Focus on Agent Training and Cruise Awareness

As part of the agreement, TravClan will collaborate closely with travel agents across India through training programmes, sales enablement initiatives, awareness campaigns, and operational support aimed at helping agents better understand and promote cruise vacations.

Industry analysts note that education and trade engagement remain crucial for accelerating cruise adoption in India, where many travellers are still unfamiliar with cruise itineraries, onboard experiences, pricing structures, and destination offerings compared to traditional land-based holidays.

The partnership is also expected to support the broader expansion of experiential tourism in India, as cruise holidays gain traction among younger travellers, families, luxury consumers, and repeat international holidaymakers seeking all-inclusive and multi-destination travel experiences.

Experts believe that technology-enabled cruise distribution platforms can play a significant role in broadening market participation while helping smaller travel businesses compete more effectively in a segment historically dominated by specialised operators.

As India’s outbound leisure travel market continues to expand, partnerships such as this are likely to contribute to greater visibility and adoption of cruise tourism within the mainstream travel ecosystem.
