Bhagwan Balani, a seasoned veteran with 28 years of experience, has been appointed as the General Manager of the renowned ITC Maratha Luxury Collection Hotel in Mumbai. 

Balani’s forte lies in maintaining impeccable luxury standards for discerning travellers while ensuring the hotel’s financial performance remains robust. His leadership track record includes overseeing the transformation of ITC Grand Goa Resort and Spa and managing operations at ITC Grand Central Mumbai during his five-year tenure with ITC Hotels. 

Hailing from Mumbai and holding distinguished qualifications from the Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Catering & Management and the Welingkar Institute of Management, Bhagwan Balani has been at the helm of various luxury hotels for the past decade. His keen interest in marketing management has enriched his expertise, and his impressive resume includes stints with prestigious brands like The Leela, Hyatt, and Hilton.

Now, Bhagwan Balani will take charge of the team at ITC Maratha, leading the charge to establish the hotel as the preferred choice for both business and leisure travelers. Notably, the hotel boasts the highest environmental stewardship LEED certification and aims to become an urban hotspot for ‘Destination Dining’ in Mumbai. 

His primary focus will be on driving revenue and sustaining the hotel’s reputation as a trusted Indian hospitality brand with a remarkable 22-year history of operational excellence. Maintaining a top-notch guest experience will remain a paramount priority for the ITC Maratha Luxury Collection Hotel Mumbai. 

Balani’s illustrious career has earned him several accolades, including being named “Mumbai’s Best General Manager” by CMO Asia in July 2023 and “Top Most Hospitality Icon as General Manager” by the World Leadership Congress & Awards in March 2022. His commitment to performance excellence in guest service delivery and effective people management has also earned him recognition as the “Best General Manager” by the Haute Grandeur Global Hotel Awards in 2017. During his tenure, the hotels he’s managed have received numerous awards, such as the Global Spa Awards, World Luxury Hotel Awards, Conde Nast Traveller Readers Travel Awards, and GeoSpa AsiaSpa India Awards, to name a few.
