Centara Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in South Asia with the opening of Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, The Centara Collection, its first property in Nepal.

Set in the hills of Kaskikot, approximately 35 minutes from Pokhara, the 42-room resort combines mountain views, Nepali cultural experiences and Thai-inspired hospitality. The property overlooks the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre, also known as Fishtail Mountain, and is positioned as a base for wellness, outdoor activities and cultural discovery.

The resort officially opened in January 2026, marking Centara’s entry into Nepal. Its grand opening was attended by tourism and hospitality representatives, including senior representatives of the Nepal Tourism Board, Gandaki Province and Centara Hotels & Resorts.

Mountain setting and locally inspired accommodation

Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara features 42 rooms, suites and villas, ranging from 75 to 128 square metres. Accommodation categories include Deluxe Garden Terrace rooms, Skylight Suites, One Bedroom Villas and One Bedroom Pool Villas.

The interiors combine contemporary amenities with warm timber finishes and Nepali design influences. Depending on the category, guests have access to private gardens, balconies or private pools, while suites and villas feature separate living areas.

The resort’s hillside setting provides views across the surrounding Himalayan landscape, while its location also offers access to the Sarangkot Loop Trail and village experiences in Kaskikot.

Wellness and Himalayan experiences

Wellness is a central element of the resort’s offering. Facilities include Cense by SPA Cenvaree, yoga sessions, sound healing, signature Thai massage treatments, an infrared sauna, a gym and an outdoor swimming pool.

Guests can also join guided village walks and cultural activities designed to introduce visitors to local traditions and the heritage of Kaskikot. Adventure options in the wider Pokhara area include trekking, paragliding and flights offering aerial views of the Annapurna region.

The resort’s approach reflects Centara’s positioning of the property as more than a conventional mountain hotel, with accommodation, wellness and cultural experiences designed around the destination.

Dining draws on Nepal and Asia

The resort’s culinary offering spans local Nepali cuisine, Indian and wider Asian flavours.

The all-day dining restaurant, The Bistro, serves Nepali and international dishes, while Thai Kitchen focuses on Indian, Chinese and Thai cuisine. The Summit Bar & Lounge provides cocktails and light dishes, while the Tea House offers locally sourced Nepali teas and snacks.

Guests can also take part in cooking classes covering traditional Nepali dishes such as momo, sel roti and yomari, alongside Thai specialities including tom yum, green curry and pad Thai.

Wellness retreat available through December 2027

Centara is currently promoting a Holistic Wellness Retreat at the property for stays through 22 December 2027.

The package includes daily holistic breakfast, spa massage, infrared sauna and guided yoga, along with a sunrise hike to Kaskikot, a personalised wellness dinner, afternoon tea, wellness amenities, Wi-Fi and round-trip airport transfers.

The offer reinforces the resort’s focus on slower-paced Himalayan travel, combining wellness activities with opportunities to explore the surrounding landscape and local culture.

A new hospitality option in Pokhara

The opening gives international travellers another accommodation option in Pokhara, a gateway to the Annapurna region, while extending Centara’s portfolio into Nepal for the first time.

By combining mountain views, locally influenced design, wellness programmes, outdoor experiences and destination-focused dining, Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara is positioned around a more immersive stay in the Himalayan foothills.
