New property strengthens Radisson Hotel Group’s footprint in India’s commercial capital, targeting business and leisure travellers with contemporary hospitality
Radisson Hotel Group has expanded its presence in India’s financial capital with the signing of Radisson RED Mumbai International Airport, a 208-key lifestyle hotel scheduled to open by December 2026. The announcement, confirmed by the company, marks another milestone in Radisson’s strategic expansion across key gateway cities in India.
Located close to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the hotel will provide convenient access to Mumbai’s major commercial and business districts, including Andheri MIDC, SEEPZ Mumbai, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and the Jio World Convention Centre, positioning it to cater to the growing demand from both corporate and leisure travellers.
The upcoming hotel will become Radisson Hotel Group’s eighth property in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), reinforcing the group’s commitment to expanding its portfolio in one of India’s busiest hospitality markets.
Existing property to be repositioned under Radisson RED brand
Rather than developing a new build, Radisson Hotel Group will renovate and reposition an existing hotel under its upscale Radisson RED brand, known for its contemporary design, vibrant social spaces and technology-driven guest experience.
The property will feature a range of amenities designed for modern travellers, including an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a deli, a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre.
Business events and conferences will also be a key focus, with more than 1,000 square metres of meeting and event space, including a ballroom and multiple banquet halls suitable for corporate gatherings, social functions and weddings.
Strengthening presence in a key hospitality market
Commenting on the signing, Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said Mumbai continues to be one of India’s most dynamic hospitality markets and remains a strategic priority for the company’s growth.
He noted that the hotel’s proximity to one of the country’s busiest airports and major commercial hubs positions it well to meet the evolving expectations of travellers seeking design-led, lifestyle hospitality experiences.
Sharma added that the latest signing expands Radisson Hotel Group’s Mumbai Metropolitan Region portfolio to eight hotels and reflects the company’s continued focus on strengthening its presence in high-demand urban destinations while introducing brands that resonate with today’s travellers.
