Singapore Airlines to introduce new A380 cabin products on Mumbai route

Singapore Airlines has now reconfigured its Airbus A380 cabin products – in suites, business, premium economy and economy class for guests travelling on Mumbai and Singapore route. Singapore Airlines first deployed its A380 to the Indian cities of New Delhi and Mumbai in 2014

The debut flight SQ423 on Mumbai-Singapore route is set to depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai on September 1, 2019 at 2340 hours.

The new A380 is fitted with 471 seats in four classes, featuring six suites, 78 business class seats on the upper deck, 44 premium economy class seats and 343 economy class seats on the main deck.

Some new offerings in suites include a full-flat bed, which gets converted into a double-bed, a plush leather chair, two lavatories, a Lalique amenity kit, a mood lighting feature and an enhanced KrisWorld entertainment system, among others.  The business class cabin seats comes in 1-2-1 configuration with a seat that seamlessly reclines into a bed. Multiple stowage compartments and a range of Penhaligon’s washroom amenities are also available. The premium economy and economy class passengers can enjoy amenities and offerings like new and improved seats with more stowage space, a footrest with adjustable positions and a coat hook, among others.

According to the airline, “The research, design, development and installation of the new products on 19 Singapore Airlines A380s represents an investment of about US$850 million.

“The new cabin offerings provide more space and privacy in all classes, featuring intimate and bespoke elements designed especially for Singapore Airlines customer.”

Currently, Singapore Airlines superjumbos serve Beijing, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Mumbai, New Delhi, London, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo and Zurich.
