Veteran luxury hospitality leader to steer operations, wellness, sustainability and guest experience at Rajasthan’s iconic heritage resort
Rajasthan, India: Six Senses Fort Barwara has appointed Burkhard Wolter as its new General Manager, strengthening the leadership team at one of India’s premier luxury wellness resorts. With more than three decades of international hospitality experience, Wolter will lead the property’s next phase of growth, focusing on guest experience, operational excellence, sustainability and heritage preservation.
A seasoned hospitality executive, Wolter has built an accomplished career across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean, holding senior leadership positions with globally recognised luxury brands, including Shangri-La, Four Seasons, Rosewood, Raffles, Kempinski, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and Orient Express. His experience spans luxury resorts, heritage hotels, city properties, boutique hotels and cruise operations.
In his new role at Six Senses Fort Barwara, Wolter will oversee all aspects of resort operations while strengthening the property’s positioning as a leading destination for luxury wellness, experiential travel and sustainable hospitality.

Known for his collaborative leadership style, he also places strong emphasis on employee development, believing engaged teams are central to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
