The renowned Taj Mahal, New Delhi, a landmark address in the heart of the national capital, marked its 45th anniversary with a spectacular celebration, unveiling a transformative chapter in its storied history. The completion of a comprehensive renovation has set a new standard in hospitality, seamlessly blending the cherished heritage of the past with contemporary sophistication.

In a momentous event, Satyajeet Krishnan, Area Director, Operations, and General Manager, Taj Mahal, New Delhi, expressed, “Taj Mahal, New Delhi, has been an enduring symbol of elegance, warmth, and luxury for generations. As stewards of a rich legacy and inspired by the loyalty of our guests, we have splendidly re-imagined the capital’s gem, offering beautifully redefined spaces and an unparalleled culinary legacy. We invite guests to rediscover this grand legacy, re-imagined.”

The meticulous transformation unfolded over three years, unveiling redesigned spaces that include the re-imagined version of The Chambers, India’s first and most revered business club. Additionally, the hotel introduced Albero, a 60-seater restaurant, seven meeting rooms, The Chambers Lounge, a sophisticated bar, and a cigar lounge. Luxury Residences, offering fully serviced one- and two-bedroom residences, along with bespoke Signature Suites like Raisina, The Grand Presidential, Rambagh, The Presidential, and the Maharaja Suite, add to the opulence. The Taj Club, House of Ming, Machan, Captain’s Cellar, Rick’s, and Varq have all been reinvented to offer a diverse range of culinary experiences.

The grand celebration featured a laser, light, and sound show in 45 hues, an array of 45 varieties of artisanal chocolates, a 4.5-tier cake, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque: ‘45 Years of Taj Mahal, New Delhi: A Legacy Re-imagined’. Esteemed patrons, members of The Chambers, diplomats, business leaders, and cultural luminaries attended the event, serenaded by the soulful melodies of the Shillong Chamber Choir.

Chef Arun Sundararaj, Director of Culinary Operations at Taj Mahal, New Delhi, and his team curated a gastronomic journey featuring Lobster Thermidor, Caviar, Truffle & Cheese carts, grills & roasts, Pattar Ka Gosht, salad & mushroom theatre, and an innovative dessert bar.
