The Thai tourism industry is poised for a remarkable resurgence following the devastating impact of the Covid-19 crisis. In an effort to regain its position as a leading global tourist destination, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a powerful marketing campaign under the slogan “Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters.” This campaign aims to steer the kingdom’s service-sector economy towards a new era of high-value and sustainable tourism.

With the goal of attracting 25 million visitor arrivals this year, the TAT has developed a strategic plan that focuses on elevating supply and sustainable standards in the industry. Leveraging Thailand’s 5F soft-power foundations of Food, Film, Festival, Fight, and Fashion, the TAT aims to instil confidence in Thailand as the preferred destination for travellers. By capitalizing on technology and innovation, the TAT plans to transform Thai tourism into a “Smart Tourism” experience, providing visitors with meaningful and immersive cultural encounters.

To provide a comprehensive update on the TAT’s initiatives, the organization will be hosting a special briefing for members of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand (FCCT) on Tuesday, 25 July, at 2 pm Bangkok time. The event, which will take place at the FCCT Clubhouse, will feature Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, the Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications at the TAT. With 30 years of experience at the TAT, Mr Chattan is responsible for overseeing strategic advertising and public relations campaigns to promote Thailand as a preferred tourist destination.

During the briefing, Mr Chattan will discuss the wide range of products, policies, and marketing directions planned for the second half of 2023. The TAT aims to sustain the growth of visitor arrivals, create employment opportunities, and distribute income nationwide. These efforts are essential to ensure that the travel and tourism sector remains at the forefront of the post-Covid recovery phase.

For those unable to attend the event in person, the FCCT will be live-streaming it on their Facebook page, allowing individuals from around the world to gain insights into the future of Thai tourism. The TAT believes that by working together with industry stakeholders and leveraging its unique cultural offerings, Thailand can overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic and usher in a new era of tourism excellence.

As the world gradually recovers from the impact of the Covid-19 crisis, Thailand is ready to welcome travellers with open arms. The “Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters” campaign, coupled with the TAT’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and cultural preservation, positions the country as a premier destination for unforgettable experiences. With the support of industry partners and the unwavering resilience of its people, Thailand’s tourism industry is poised to embark on a new and prosperous journey.
