The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has appointed Rajesh Namby as General Manager of The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary, the brand’s first forest sanctuary.

Namby brings more than three decades of experience across luxury hospitality, destination resorts, food and beverage and hotel operations. A long-standing member of The Leela family, he began his career with the brand at The Leela Palace Bengaluru before holding senior leadership roles at The Leela Palace New Delhi and The Leela Palace Udaipur. His career has also included leadership positions at Raffles Udaipur, The Lodhi New Delhi, Hyatt Regency Kolkata and Hilton Golden Palms Resort & Spa Bengaluru.

In his new role, Namby will lead the opening and operations of The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary, set across 76 acres in the Western Ghats. The property is being developed as an immersive luxury retreat centred on nature, wellness, culinary experiences and personalised Indian hospitality.

Commenting on his appointment, Namby said he looked forward to bringing the sanctuary’s destination-led vision to life while reflecting the brand’s hospitality philosophy and the character of Coorg.

The appointment comes as The Leela marks 40 years of Indian luxury hospitality and expands its portfolio with a new forest-focused retreat in Karnataka.
