Thomas Cook (India) has introduced a new Zero Markup Forex Card, relaunching its One Currency Card with zero forex markup and zero cross-currency conversion charges.
The prepaid forex card is designed for Indian travellers looking for a simpler and more cost-effective way to spend overseas while protecting themselves from currency fluctuations.
One of the card’s key features is the ability to lock in exchange rates before travel by loading the card in US dollars. This allows travellers to secure their exchange rate in advance, reducing the impact of currency volatility during their trip.
Designed Around Common Travel Challenges
Thomas Cook India said the card addresses some of the biggest concerns international travellers face when making payments abroad.
The new card offers:
- Zero forex markup when purchasing or loading foreign exchange.
- Zero cross-currency conversion charges, allowing payments in multiple currencies without extra conversion fees.
- Protection against exchange rate fluctuations by locking in the forex rate before departure.
Digital-First Experience
The Zero Markup Forex Card is available exclusively through Thomas Cook India’s digital platforms.
Customers can apply through the company’s website, TC Pay mobile app, WhatsApp, call centre, or order the card through Blinkit.
Extra Benefits for Travellers
Along with lower foreign exchange costs, the card includes several travel-friendly features.
Cardholders can receive 10% cashback at selected international brands, including McDonald’s, Starbucks, KFC, Uber, Grab, 7-Eleven and Careem.
Additional benefits include:
- Contactless payments through Google Pay Tap & Pay
- Complimentary insurance cover of up to ₹7.5 lakh
- Free emergency cash assistance
- Free replacement card if the original card is lost or stolen while travelling
- Worldwide acceptance at locations where Mastercard is accepted across more than 200 countries and territories
Deepesh Varma, Chief Business Officer – Foreign Exchange at Thomas Cook (India), said travellers today are more value-conscious and increasingly prefer digital payment solutions when travelling abroad.
He added that the Zero Markup Forex Card gives customers greater control over overseas spending while protecting them from unpredictable currency movements, making it especially useful in today’s volatile foreign exchange market.
With international travel from India continuing to grow, Thomas Cook India is expanding its range of digital forex products to offer travellers more flexibility, transparency and savings during their trips.
