Visit Hungary recently organised a familiarisation trip for Indian travel trade partners to highlight leisure and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) offerings in Budapest and surrounding areas. The trip, facilitated by BRANDit, hosted six agents from Axplore, Harmony Tours, Varun WorldWide, Kesari, FCM, and Trawell Stories from December 4–9, 2023. The agents explored various cities, gaining insights into attractions tailored for leisure and MICE segments.
The journey kicked off with a visit to the Etyek Wine City on the outskirts of Budapest, where trade members participated in a wine-tasting experience and learned about Hungarian winemaking traditions. The itinerary then took them to the House of Music, a contemporary cultural landmark showcasing Hungary’s musical heritage. The day concluded with dinner on the Danube cruise.
A workshop at the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus included a market overview presented by representatives from various countries. This was followed by a meeting with Hungarian travel companies, allowing attendees to gain knowledge about leisure activities, MICE facilities, and lesser-known aspects of the European nation. The group also visited Lake Balaton and Tihany Abbey, known for their architecture. The journey ended with an excursion to Balatonfüred, a lakeside town, and a walking tour of Veszprém.
