From the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and championship golf to international concerts, comedy and family entertainment, the destination is preparing for a busy end to the year following a record 44 million visits in 2025.

Yas Island Abu Dhabi is preparing for a packed final quarter of 2026, with an extensive calendar of international sporting events, live music, comedy, culinary festivals and family attractions expected to draw visitors from the UAE and overseas.

The programme includes the Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, UFC 333, international concerts and the Abu Dhabi Comedy Season. The destination’s hotels, theme parks, restaurants, entertainment venues and transport services are coordinating preparations to accommodate the anticipated increase in visitor activity.

The outlook follows a record year in 2025, when Yas Island recorded more than 44 million visits, up 16% year-on-year. Theme park visits grew by 10%, while hotels reported average occupancy of 84%, with peaks of 90%. Average daily rates increased by 17% compared with 2024, according to figures reported by the Emirates News Agency.

Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at Miral, said major sporting events remain central to Yas Island’s strategy of strengthening its position as an international destination. He noted that such events bring audiences together while encouraging visitors to explore the island’s wider hospitality, leisure and entertainment offering.

David Powell, Chief Portfolio and Strategy Officer at Ethara Live, also highlighted the combination of major sporting fixtures, headline concerts and live entertainment planned for the season.

October: Sport and entertainment set the pace

The final-quarter programme continues in October with international comedy and live sport. Russell Peters is scheduled to perform at Etihad Arena on 25 October, while UFC 333 is set to take place at the venue on 24 October.

The events form part of Yas Island’s broader entertainment calendar, which combines major international productions with dining, shopping and attractions across the destination.

Seasonal programming also adds to the island’s family appeal. Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi’s Spooktober celebration is scheduled to run until 1 November, featuring themed entertainment and character experiences.

November: Championship golf, concerts and culinary experiences

November brings a varied programme of sport, music, comedy and food-led experiences.

The Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship is scheduled for 5–8 November at Yas Links Abu Dhabi. As part of the DP World Tour calendar, the tournament will bring professional golf to the island, adding to its established portfolio of international sporting events.

Comedy also features prominently, with Mo Amer scheduled for 6 November and Maz Jobrani for 7 November at Etihad Arena. Hans Zimmer will perform on 13 November, followed by Turkish pop star Tarkan on 27 November and Arab music performer Ramy Sabry on 28 November.

The Real American Freestyle wrestling event is scheduled to make its Middle East debut at Etihad Arena on 14 November, according to the destination’s event listings.

Food and family entertainment will take centre stage at Taste of Abu Dhabi, scheduled for 13–15 November at Yas Gateway Park. The festival will bring together restaurants, chefs, live cooking demonstrations and entertainment for visitors of different ages.

The month’s programme also includes the Mansour Festival, scheduled for 26–29 November at Yas Gateway Park, adding another family-oriented event to the destination’s calendar.

December: Formula 1 and headline performances

December will culminate in the Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, scheduled for 3–6 December at Yas Marina Circuit. The race weekend is one of the emirate’s major annual international events, combining motorsport with concerts, hospitality experiences and entertainment across Yas Island.

Andrea Bocelli is scheduled to perform at Etihad Arena on 2 December as part of Yasalam Classics, setting the stage for the Grand Prix celebrations.

The official Yas Island event calendar also lists headline performances during race weekend, including Lewis Capaldi and Imagine Dragons, with The Chainsmokers and The Script scheduled for 6 December. Concert access and ticket conditions vary by event, so visitors should consult the official listings when planning their trip.

The entertainment programme continues after the Grand Prix. December events at Etihad Arena include Disney+ Live in Concert productions featuring Encanto on 18 December and Frozen on 19 December, alongside other film-concert experiences scheduled during the month.

Together, the sporting and entertainment calendar offers visitors opportunities to combine a major event with a longer stay, exploring the island’s attractions, restaurants, hotels and waterfront leisure districts.

A destination designed for longer stays

Yas Island’s appeal extends beyond its event calendar. Its portfolio includes theme parks, hotels, dining venues, shopping and waterfront experiences, allowing visitors to build multi-day itineraries around major sporting fixtures and performances.

The destination is located approximately 10 minutes from Zayed International Airport, 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi city centre and 50 minutes from Dubai, according to information released by the Emirates News Agency.

As the final quarter unfolds, Yas Island’s focus will be on bringing its attractions, hospitality partners and event venues together to manage visitor demand and deliver a connected destination experience. With the Grand Prix anchoring December’s programme and a broad calendar of events preceding it, the island is positioning itself for another significant season in Abu Dhabi’s tourism year.
