Encouraged by the escalating travel demand between Egypt and India, Egyptair is gearing up to introduce daily flights connecting Delhi and Cairo, as revealed by a senior executive.
Presently, the Egyptian carrier, with over four decades of operational history in India, operates nine weekly flights to Cairo. Among these, five flights originate from Mumbai, while the remaining four depart from the national capital.
“We are optimistic about launching daily flights from Delhi to Cairo,” shared Amr Aly, the airline’s Country Manager, with PTI on Sunday.
Aly underscored the improving air traffic between the two nations, accentuated by transit passengers bound for various destinations.
The airline commenced its Delhi-Cairo route last August, deploying A320 neo aircraft for the services, while flights linking Mumbai and Cairo utilize Boeing 737-8 planes.
Egyptair, a member of the Star Alliance, boasts a codeshare partnership with Air India.
The focus remains on positioning Egypt as a premier tourism hotspot and enticing more visitors, Aly emphasized.
Established in 1932, Egyptair proudly serves as Egypt’s national flag carrier.
In celebration of its 92nd year of operations, the airline is set to unveil an array of initiatives and promotions, including special fares, for its patrons and trade allies, as stated in a recent release.
India stands out as one of the globe’s fastest-growing civil aviation markets.
A recent report by Netherlands-based ING Bank NV forecasts India’s ascent as a powerhouse for future airline growth, fueled by the populace’s growing inclination toward travel and the burgeoning population.
Commenting on the developments, Amr Aly remarked, “Since the launch of the direct flight last year, we have witnessed a notable increase in travel, business, and cultural exchanges between Egypt and India. This move to daily flights is set to further augment these ties.
