A large number of buildings are scattered in a fort surrounded by a 45 km long parapet wall. Structures such as the massive Jami Mosque and Hoshang Shah’s tomb have also been an inspiration for the designing of the glorious Taj Mahal.

During monsoon, the hill range of Mandu is at its best in natural scenery. The entire area is covered in lush greenery with a number of torrents and brooks, gushing down into the narrow valley. The beauty of the place is further enhanced by numerous ponds and lakes dotted across. There are several places to visit in Mandu like palaces, mosques, Jama Masjid, and the strategic position of Mandu and its rich cultural heritage makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Madhya Pradesh. The incredible Afghan architecture and amazing baobab trees, originally from Africa, are important attractions that boost Tourism in Mandu.
